We’re loving the new Zig Zag Charity bracelet – made by CocoandJaneLoves.com for The Sebastian Hunter Memorial Trust.

A great way to support the charity whilst adding fabulous looking jewellery to your collection or purchasing as a gift.

All profits from the sale of this bracelet will go direct to ‘The Sebastian Hunter Memorial Trust’ set up in memory of Sebastian by his family who died a tragic & untimely death at the age of 18 at the beginning of what would have been a gifted & productive life. He had many talents to make the world a better place. In Seb’s memory, thousands of children in poor rural parts in India have been given opportunities for more than a basic education.

The sale from one bracelet will help feed a family and educate a child for one month.

From the Editor: “Artworks abound in the magazine this month, as we photograph two homes where paintings, drawings, sculptures and ceramics certainly take centre stage. First off, Belgravia Gallery owner Laura explains to us how she has turned her family home into the ideal exhibition space for artists she represents, whilst also delving into the wonderful history of the building’s previous owner.”

“What can interior designers expect from Belgravia Gallery? Interior designers can expect a professional and tailor-made, individual service depending on the needs of the client. We are very focussed on listening to the client or interior designer and providing ideas of what art or sculpture will help complete a space. We try to encourage designers and clients to think about the art as the project develops – or ideally at the beginning of a project, as it can make such a difference when art is not merely something that is added at the end. We are happy to be brought in at any point on a project and work together to create a finished space that is enhanced by the art and sculpture.”

Elspeth Pridham is a journalist, author and blogger with over 25 years’ experience writing about interior design for the interior design professionals.

As Spring began to show its colours over the Surrey Hills, Belgravia Gallery was thrilled to host an art lunch & exhibition with artist & musician John Illsley of Dire Straits as guest of honour.
The event included a delicious lunch courtesy of Thyme & Lime followed by a short talk from John Illsley and an opportunity to view, discuss & purchase John’s original oils and limited edition prints.

A gallery in Surrey is to display artwork by Nelson Mandela to celebrate 30 years since he became President of South Africa.

Belgravia Gallery in Cranleigh will exhibit signed lithographs by the apartheid activist portraying scenes of his time in Robben Island prison.

Laura Walford, Belgravia Gallery’s managing director, said Mandela’s legacy was “huge and immeasurable”.

The exhibition starts on 10 June and will continue throughout the summer.

BEST OF BRITISH
This exhibition celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III in 2023 and featured several artworks by British artists – including the signed lithographs of HM King Charles, created when he was Prince of Wales –  teamed with some international artists who held connections to the UK through their work.

Belgravia Gallery is delighted to offer the sculpture of Colleen McLaughlin Barlow. Colleen is a Canadian artist whose work is a response to the beauty of the natural world including human and animal anatomy. She has charted new territory by exploring these themes, which are usually the preserve of science from her own artist’s viewpoint.

Christ Takes Up the Cross is a polished bronze statue of Christ lifting what appears to be a billowing acrylic cloud or cape, deep inside of which is a delicate silver cross. The depiction captures the moment Jesus willingly takes his cross- instead of the beaten and exhausted Christ figure usually portrayed in Western art.

Charlie Mackesy’s best-selling book – The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, was adapted as an animated short, making its debut on British TV in 2022. The short film achieved the success of winning a BAFTA in February 2023 for Best British Animated Short, which was shortly followed by an Oscar (alongside Matthew Freud) for Best Animated Short Film, at the 95th Academy Awards, in March 2023.

Belgravia Gallery has exhibited the artwork of Charlie Mackesy for more than 20 years.

These range from signed lithographs to original oils, pastels & ink & watercolour drawings.
