Work Experience

My week of work experience with Belgravia Gallery was organised through a charity auction with ICan, only a slim section of the gallery’s involvement in charitable work.

I had an exciting week with the gallery with a great variety of tasks.  I worked with all the team individually and they taught me several new skills to boost my opportunities in the arts career.

Working with Laura I worked on creating a new moving brochure for the relocation of their gallery to the Surrey Hills.  I also worked on creating half page adverts and invitations for upcoming events.  Laura taught me about Publisher and its ease in creating these designs, previously I would have always used Word but I have been converted!

Working with Lorraine I was taught how to produce e-newsletters in a creative and aesthetic style.  This newsletter unlike my previous projects on publisher was created on an online database.  I worked with templates to create a ‘Spring’ e-newsletter.  The test email was key in order to check that all the links were working correctly and unfortunately they were not!

I also worked with ArtNet and became accquainted with the website.  I acknowledged the changes that needed to be adjusted in order to correlate Belgravia’s website with the works on ArtNet.

I thoroughly enjoyed my week of work experience with the team.  Everybody was welcoming and I learnt a lot, even though they thought I did not!  I hope to go and visit the Surrey Hills Gallery soon.  Thank you for a lovely week gallerinas!
