Tatiana Potapova is a Belgian sculptor of Russian origin, born in Moscow in 1977 and based in Belgium since the age of 18. After a 15-year career in international business, she returned to her childhood passion for sculpture, exhibiting her first works in 2016.
Working primarily in bronze, Tatiana seeks to capture energy, movement and the fleeting intensity of a gesture. Her sculptures appear to dance, leap and play, creating a sense of lightness and vitality in a solid material.
Her inspiration is deeply rooted in her childhood in Moscow, where she was fascinated by figure skating, ballet and gymnastics. She admires the elegance, discipline and determination of performers who transform effort into an extraordinary sense of freedom and lightness—qualities she strives to bring to her own work.
Tatiana’s work has received international recognition, including the Public Prizes at the Montreux and Lasne Sculpture Biennales and the SofinaBoël Fund for Education & Talent Award. She was also a finalist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation Art Exhibition in London.
Her monumental sculptures can be found in public spaces in Belgium and Switzerland, including Montreux and Tervuren.
