Georgette Daveline

(1902-1986)

Georgette Daveline was born in Nevers, just south of Paris and studied her art in Paris under the eye of Dubois. Instilling into her the traditions of the great 19th century impressionists with whom he had worked, her natural talent displays a freshness combined with a delicate touch and sensitive feminine vision.

Daveline exhibited for the first time at the Société des Artistes Française in 1923 at the age of 21 and was a regular exhibitor at the Salons after that time. Daveline’s work echoes the touch of the Impressionist masters and the palette of the Fauves.
