The Chelsea Arts Club was founded in 1891 by a group of artists living and working in the area. Originally occupying premises on the King’s Road, it moved to Old Church Street shortly afterwards and has been located there ever since. Many of the artists involved had studied in Paris, and they were perhaps inspired by the independent exhibitions which the Impressionists had held there.
Belgravia Gallery is pleased to offer works by a variety of artists comprised from the Centenary Portfolio published by the Chelsea Arts Club. Featuring screenprints in colours from some of its best-known members, the collection was produced to celebrate the club's centenary in 1991.
