Charlie Mackesy

Known for his best-selling book, ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’, Charlie Mackesy’s drawings and paintings have a subtlety and charm that has captured the imagination of a generation.

Belgravia Gallery has worked with Mackesy for over 20 years. He began drawing in the early 1980s and then went on to work as a cartoonist for The Spectator magazine.
In awe of his ability to blend illustrations with meaningful words so brilliantly, Belgravia Gallery has had the pleasure of exhibiting Mackesy’s work in several one-man and group exhibitions throughout his prolific career. Mackesy was also selected to work on Nelson Mandela’s Unity Series project, re-imagining the drawings that Mandela made.
