This view captures the dramatic qualities of the mountains and forests and makes use of strong contrasts of light and dark. The gestural painting creates an impression of a landscape full of energy, movement and changing light. Areas of the paper left white, and delicate washes of colour, help to evoke a twilight glow as shadows fall across the landscape at the end of a winter’s day. HM King Charles III painted the watercolour this print was created from when he was HRH The Prince of Wales.
