This bust is of the first King of the Island of Kea about 3,000 B.C. whose name was Keos. The bust was created based on historical information found in Kea describing the King who inspired the sculptor with his imagination to create the bust. King Keos came from the region Arcadia of Peloponissos and he was the leader of the Arcadians.
It is a magnificent male torso with drapery in pure white marble carved by a master of his trade. Work by Hionatos is highly sought-after, amongst his collectors are Costa Gavras the noted film-maker.
