Stefanos Daskalakis was born in Pireaus in 1952.
He was assistant and a model to the famous artist, Yannis Tsarouchis, for nine years until Tsarouchis's death in 1989.
Daskalakis’ paintings consist of still lifes, interior spaces and most recently, human figures and portraiture.
Stefanos has been awarded the Best Greek Artist prize for 2014 by the prestigious Athens Academy.
He reaches significant aesthetic results by combining austere, almost photographic design with warm sensitivity giving emphasis to earthly subjects and shadows. His careful synthetic ability is calculated to balance and hold in balance the variety of colours.
